Warden material progression
Deeper and Darker's equipment graph mixes vanilla upgrade bases with mod-specific drops. The important planning decision is which scarce material chain to complete first.

Collect Warden Carapaces
Four carapaces are used directly by the Ancient Compass. They also appear inside the Reinforced Echo Shard recipe used by Warden armor.

Build a Reinforced Echo Shard
Combine four Warden Carapaces, one Echo Shard, and four Phantom Membranes. This becomes the addition material for the Warden Chestplate smithing upgrade.

Prepare the vanilla armor base
The Warden Chestplate begins with a Netherite Chestplate, so its true dependency chain includes the diamond chestplate and Netherite upgrade path.

Keep the Resonarium path separate
The Resonarium Sword uses a Diamond Sword, a Resonarium Upgrade Smithing Template, and a Resonarium Plate rather than the Warden armor ingredients.

Save Soul Crystals for utility
Soul Crystals from Stalkers or Ancient Temple fountain chests feed the Sonorous Staff and Soul Elytra recipes.
